Ever thought about working in a museum?

Transforming People to Transform Museums is a Skills for the Future programme funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund from 2018-2022. It will support museum trainees to develop core heritage and business development skills.

Trainees will be hosted by:

  • The National Horse Racing Museum, Newmarket
  • Colchester + Ipswich Museum Service
  • The Museum of East Anglian Life, Stowmarket
  • The Long Shop Museum, Leiston

At the National Horseracing Museum we will be hosting two Community Engagement Trainees from January 2021 for 12 months. Trainees will work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Cultural Heritage and will support the curatorial and community engagement teams to engage people with our museum collections and site. This will include assisting in the planning, delivery and evaluation of activities including workshops, trails, events, exhibitions and collections-related projects.

To find out more come and meet us at the National Horseracing Museum for our trainee drop-in event on Saturday 17 October. Just come along any time between 10.30am and 1pm and have an informal chat with our current trainee and trainee supervisor, as well as a look round the site.

We held a live Instagram Q & A on Thursday 8th October which we hope you found interesting and informative. Click here to watch the story.
